The port of Haina has become the busiest of the loading/unloading ports for the metropolitan city of Santo Domingo. It is located at the mouth of the Haina River within the limits of the modern city, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste. There are port facilities on both banks of the river.

It has a dock capacity to receive fifteen vessels and handle different cargoes: general cargo, containers, roll-on/roll-off, liquids and dry bulk raw materials.
