The port of Boca Chica is one of three ports that serve the capital city of Santo Domingo. It is located about 20 miles east of the city, and just 5 miles east of the international airport.

It is used for the import and export of containers, wood, bagged cement, newsprint, fuel, liquids, homogeneous cargo and tourist ships.
